Abstract

This study aims to find out the need of Indonesian migrant workers for learning English, especially who decided to work abroad in Singapore and to investigate the Indonesian labour service needs to prepare Indonesian migrant workers for learning English. Learning English in the 21st century is important as the main language, especially by Indonesian migrant workers who is qualified to work abroad. Indonesian migrant workers learning English in two to three months based on needs and available job vacancies. Since learning English is needed by Indonesian migrant workers for work, they only learn specific material. In a real conditions, the Indonesian migrant workers extremely need English language instruction that appropriate with their needs as a provision to work abroad. The methodology of this research used qualitative and quantitative method which get a data from questionnaire and interview. The result of this research showed that 87.9% from the questionnaire that has been obtained, Indonesian migrant workers is needed 21st century skills to apply on the learning English process.
