Abstract

The aims of this study are to explore English learners’ self-efficacy in 21st century skills and to explore factors contributing learners’ in different gender with their self-efficacy. The method of this research is qualitative research method and learners’ of English Language Teaching Department as the data source. Technique of collecting data used with observation, interview, and study of documentation while the instrument is the researcher herself. Techniques of collecting data are data reduction, explanation of data, and verification of data or conclusion. The research findings elaborate that English learners’ department owned 21st century skills within themselves as a foundation to deal with 21st century era including: critical thinker, creative, communicator, collaborator, information media and technology, learning orientation, and explore self-improvement. Their self-efficacy level is good considered to skills that needed in the 21st century era. In other hand, factors that contribute them are motivation, home environment, peer influence, and teacher influence.
