Abstract

For supporting the teacher professionalism especially their personality and social competence, interpersonal intelligence is the most own thing needed by the teacher. So, interpersonal intelligence which is a necessity for pedagogical competence, personality competence and social competence, and intrapersonal intelligence for the necessity of teacher personality competence. In this recent research, interpersonal intelligence might overcome students’ obstacle in English writing skill. This research aims (1) To identity teacher’s characteristics of interpersonal intelligence in teaching English writing in the classroom and (2) To explore teacher overcomes students’ obstacle in English writing by teachers’ dimension of interpersonal intelligence. It also affected their students writing skill during or after they teach them in the class. Therefore, some efforts need to be done in order to maintain or improve the students’ writing skill. Then, students’ writing skill must have any relation to their teacher’s interpersonal intelligence. The researcher used descriptive qualitative research because it could help the researcher to understand the situation in the field deeply. The instruments that researcher had were observation checklist to know teachers’ characteristics of interpersonal intelligence in teaching English writing and (2) Interview to know the difficulties of students obstacles in writing through teacher’s dimension of interpersonal intelligence. The results shows (1) That teacher's characteristics of interpersonal intelligence in teaching English writing in the classroom are six characteristics teacher could master almost all characteristics in such points. However, in point the ability to Socialize, teacher could not guide the students in any related extra-curricular. Due to the teacher more focused on its learning activities and related of the material they learned, and (2) Then, to overcomes the student’s obstacle in writing through the dimension of teacher interpersonal intelligence, the teacher have those dimensions the order through students are able to resolve they problem in writing.
