Abstract

The ability to write in English is one of the basic skills that is important for junior high school students to master, especially in facing the 21st century curriculum. This study aims to design and develop a website specifically to support the writing skills of eighth-grade junior high school students. This study used mixed-methods research, with a convergent Research & Development (R&D) research design adapted from Creswell (2018) who describes R&D as an approach used to develop and refine educational products based on systematic procedures and field data. The data from this study were obtained from English teachers and 8th grade students at Patrol. The data were collected using questionnaire and open-ended Interview. The primary data obtained includes insights from the result of questionnaire to students and insight from teachers. This study concludes that eighth-grade junior high school students showed a generally positive attitude toward integrating web-based platforms in learning English writing. The overall conclusion drawn from the development and subsequent discussion is that YourWrites provides a substantial degree of innovation, particularly in its design aesthetics and instructional features.
