Abstract

Working stress is a form of someone’s physical or mental response to the environmental change that felt disturbing and affecting himself to be caught on long term stress which can cause depression and if it last in a long time and lean to permanent, it can make someone hit by the burnout syndrome which is the emotional condition when someone feel exhausted and bored both physically or mentally as the consequence of the rising working prosecution. The aims of this research are: 1. Explaining the concept of burnout syndrome and its implication to the teacher as a social worker; 2. Explaining the description of burnout syndrome based on sex, age, educational background and working period of the teachers of Wahidin Vocational High School, Cirebon ; 3. Explaining the effect of self efication and social support to the heal of burnout syndrome hit to the teacher of Wahidin Vocational High School, Cirebon. To dim the working saturation (burnout syndrome), needed serious effort so that the teacher does not hit by burnout syndrome, one of them is by increasing self efication and social support so that the teacher can overcome the burnout syndrome he felt himself. This research use the qualitative method. The qualitative method is a research procedure that produce descriptive data in forms of both written and oral from the people or observable attitude. Whereas, the technique of collecting data used in this research are interview, observation and documents. The approach used in this research is descriptive analysis which is an interpretation of a research. The conclusion of this research is: the burnout syndrome can be overcome by doing the effort of increasing self efication such as: being grateful to Allah (God), doing new things, being more creative, creating conducive working environment, positive thinking, appearing realistic hope and having good time management, while the effort of increasing social support can be done by: getting social support from the family, colleague and chairman/chairwoman, information support, concrete support and group support, so that the teacher who gets burnout can feel more comfortable because of having emotional relationship with other people. Therefore, the burnout felt by a teacher will be decreased.
