Abstract
Parenting style is very important for the development of our children in preparation for their future. Good parenting will make someone have good physical and psychological aspect, especially on creative thinking. In fact, good parenting does not always make someone has good skill on creative thinking. Someone who is threatened by bad parenting style category precisely can be more creative. In addition, someone who has very high IQ, sometimes is not too creative than someone that has average IQ. Furthermore, the chance to develop creative thinking skill is very limited. Our education purposes and regulations disposed to make someone only have one answer. Base on the reasons, the writer interested to make a research whether parenting style and student’s IQ have influence toward creative thinking skill at XII grade students of SMK Sultan Agung Sumber. The purposes of the research are to explain the influence of parenting style toward creative thinking skill, to explain the influence of student’s IQ toward creative thinking skill, and to prove the influence of parenting style and student’s IQ toward creative thinking skill at XII grade students of SMK Sultan Agung Sumber. The techniques of collecting data used by the writer are observation, questionnaire, and test. In doing the research, the writer uses quantitative approach. It means that the data are obtained and presented by numbers so that they can be measured and interpreted by using statistical analysis with the purpose to examine hypothesis that has been settled. The population of the research is all of the XII grade students of SMK Sultan Agung Sumber. The students who become population consist of 310 students. In this research the writer takes 39 students as the sample. After the data has been analyzed, the writer concluded that there is no significant influence between parenting style and student’s IQ toward creative thinking skill at XII grade students of SMK Sultan Agung Sumber. This prove is based on the result of statistical analysis that shows Fcount < Ftable or 0,56 is lower than 3,26. So, parenting style and student’s IQ do not give significant influence on creative thinking skill. It means creative thinking skill is not merely influenced by parenting style and student’s IQ. Someone who gets good parenting and has high IQ does not guarantee that he or she has high skill in creative thinking.
