Abstract
SYAEKHUL FANAN: The market became a place to make buying and selling activity, which in economic terms, the market is a meeting place of damand and supply of goods. Initialy, transaction in the market are made directly between the seller and the buyer with the budding process. The patterns of such transaction take in the traditional markets. Howevwer, over the times, the sale and purchase transaction can be done indirectly by the bar code on the prices of goods that have been provided so that there is no bargaining between the seller and the buyer. Patterns such transaction occurred in the modern market. The liberlization of the retail trade sector in 1998 has enecouraged a modern market in Indonesia. Within a few years, the modern market can continue to improve is market share, not only in urban areas but also to the outlying villages. The phenomenon of an increasing nnumber of modern market also occurred in Cirebon. Based on data from the Departement of Industry and Trade of Cirebon in the peroid 2012-2015 shows that every year there are an increasing number of modern markets, while the number of traditional markets has not changed. Based on this, it may cause consumer preferences to choose where to shop. Consumer preferences not only intened to select items to be purchased alone but also shoosing where to shop. By case mentioned, growth retail modern inflict impact social economy to community around Mundu Pesisir. Aim research this is to knowing there is or no impact growth retail modern to retail traditional. Location researech done in village Mundu Pesisir subdisrtict Mundu regency Cirebon. This research was conducted using qualitative research. The data collection is done through observation, interview and documentation. This is done to obtain information relating to the title to be studied. While the data analysis done by the editorial stage, data presentation and verification of data, this is done to provide a descriptive analiysis and draw conclusions from the description of the issue. Results from study that the presence suprised the market in the village Mundu Pesisir very help economy the treader, because retail traditional can be container economy tranding. Impact to social economic community Mundu Pesisir that is presence change value and norm change behaviar, cultur consumtive more big, consumtive character individualism, presence discrepancy social Keywords : Retail Modern, Growth, Social Economic.
