Abstract
Muhammad Faiz Fairuzzabadzi: The Effect of Edutainment Method on Students’ Speaking Skill at Seven Grade Student of MTs SITI KHADIJAH Sindangwangi Majalengka. The main duty of teacher is carrying out activities of learning. The teacher should know the meaning of learning activity, learning strategy in order to create an effective activity of leraning. One of learning object is English language. There are four major skills of English that the learners have to improve one of them is speaking. In teaching speaking of English the teacher should select suitable method in order the learner could improve their speaking skill. One of the method is edutainment method. Edutainment come from the word education and entertainment, Basically edutainment is a method of teaching which requires students to be more active in learning. And edutainment also content with a high degree of both educational and entertainment value. The aims of doing research are (1) to know the sudents’ activity while teaching – learning, (2) to know the different improvement of students’ result study in learning English, (3) to know the respond of student. This resaerch has done in MTs SITI KHADIJAH Sindangwangi, exactly in the Seven Class of A as Experiment Class, and Seven Class of B as Control Class both class consisting 30 students. the technique of collecting data which applied by the writer are observation (field note), test (practical oral test), and questionnaire. The writer use quantitative method in the resarch. The data which have been collected will be analyzed by the sample paired T test. The improvement result of study on the students of experiment class is more better than the students of control class this thing provable with the average result of speaking practical test 69.25 in the experiment class, and 65.71 in the control class. And for the respond of student who tought by edutainment method is better with the average 98.87 for positive statement with strong criteria, and 91.38 for negative statement with strong criteria. By looking the result of research finding above, the writer can conclude that the effect of edutainment method on students’s speaking skill could improve the result of study on student and give a good contribution toward speaking skill of student.
