Abstract
Women with careers, and especially those who already married, are alrnost always in ct marginal position. This research is a case study at IAIN iirebon, using a qualitative descriptive melhod' This study concluded: (1) The economic motive of career women mostly claimed not to be the main thing. (2) The non-economic motives of wimen in careers are varied: incyease experience, iitcrease self-esteem, app$,the lmowledge and skills, carry out the mandate, undergo a graduallyfl^owing career, to befreefrom dohestic rush, supported by husband, ond motivated children.
