This research is motivated by the gap between theory and practice in the field, theoretically, regular formative test implementation should be able to foster high learning motivation in the field of Islamic Cultural History at SMP Negeri 1 Tukdana, Indramayu Regency, but with the regularity of the implementation of formative tests, there are still some students whose learning motivation does not change. This study aims to determine whether formative tests, student learning motivation and a significant relationship between formative tests and student motivation in Islamic Religious Education Subjects. This research was conducted at the State 1 Junior High School (SMP) in Tukdana District, Indramayu Regency. The data sources of this research used books related to the application of formative test learning evaluation and student learning motivation. This type of research uses a quantitative approach. Researchers use product moment correlation because this correlation is one of the correlations that is widely used in social research. In this study, there are two variables X and Y which are X (formative test) and Y (learning motivation). With the obtained r count of 0.555, it can be stated that the relationship between the application of formative tests and student motivation in Islamic Religious Education subjects is statistically significant. This means that the higher the quality of the application of formative tests will be associated with the higher students' learning motivation and conversely the lower the application of formative tests will be associated with the low motivation of students' learning.
