Abstract
This study aims to analyse the transliteration symbols phoneme /g/ and /ng/ in proper noun of the Indonesian language into Arabic based on phonological and graphologist approach. Phoneme /g/ is not found in Arabic phonemes thus resulting in the emergence of transcriptional variation symbol of Indonesian to Arabic such as <ج، غ، ݢ، ق> and < ڠ>. This case has implications for the decoding process by readers. Factors causing the emergence of this variant seems to be caused by lack of international standards related to the Latin-Arabic transcription symbols, especially for Indonesian-Arabic. The research sources are scattered texts in online Arabic news media. This study is an initial study for mapping the symbol of Indonesian phoneme transcription into Arabic.
