Abstract
Body Image is a concept of understanding how one views oneself through assessing what one feels and thinks about body size and body shape. A positive body image can increase a person's self-confidence. The adolescent phase is the phase that experiences the most rapid changes in cognitive, emotional abilities, body shape and so on. The aim of this research is to find out the body image profile of teenage girls and the profile of self-confidence in class XI girls at SMA N 1 Jamblang and to find out the relationship between body image and the level of self-confidence in class XI girls at SMA N 1 Jamblang. The relationship between body image and the level of self-confidence in young women is important. This aims to ensure that a teenager can mobilize all his abilities to develop himself in a positive direction. This research uses a quantitative approach, the method used is quantitative correlational. With a population of 190 and a sample of 48 people with a sampling technique using purposive sampling technique. The data collection techniques used are questionnaires, observation and documentation. The analysis techniques used are normality test, correlation test, linearity test and hypothesis test. The results of this research are 1) The body image profile of class XI teenage girls at SMA Negeri 1 Jamblang is included in the High category with a percentage of 80.14%. 2) The level of self-confidence possessed by class XI teenage girls at SMA Negeri 1 Jamblang is included in the high category with a percentage of 76.35%. 3) The relationship between Body Image and the level of self-confidence of young women in class XI SMA Negeri 1 Jamblang has a strong or high relationship with a value of 0.799 or in the interval 0.70 – 0.90. Meanwhile, the large sig value. 0.000 when compared to the ɑ value, then Sig 0.000 < 0.05, so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning there is a significant relationship between the Body Image profile and the level of self-confidence.
