Abstract
Indonesia’s low scores in international assessments highlight the urgent need for transformative learning. Shifting from teacher-centered to student-centered pedagogy is crucial for this transformation (Sudimantara, 2021). This research explores how digital reading resources can contribute to this shift. Drawing on the concept of cyberlearning, how technology can be used to activate natural learning processes through a multisensory approach. This qualitative research with an R&D design developed digital English reading resources that integrate local wisdom values of folklore using a multisensory approach, "Reading for Emotion," and CEFR frameworks. The findings of the research show that digital English reading resources developed with a multisensory approach as well as Reading for Emotion and CEFR as tools for developing narrative text learning materials support the learning transformation needed by students, both students and teachers perceive that the use of digital English reading resources in learning English in the classroom promotes student-centered learning and 21st century skills by providing freedom for students to learn independently and prioritizing student agency through exploration, analysis and discussion activities as well as expressing opinions. Those learning activities are in line with the learning transformation concept promoted by the Merdeka curriculum and the cyberlearning concept which seeks to realize learning transformation by combining knowledge about how people learn with the advances of information and communications technologies. Therfore, the use of digital English reading resources under the independent curriculum and the concept of cyberlearning in learning can realize the long-term goal of educational transformation: lifelong learning.
