Abstract
The current 21st century English language curriculum has mandated teachers to design high quality English learning oriented to the development of spoken fluency and literacy skills (Birsh & Carreker, 2018). However, English teachers especially in Indonesia lack support to produce high quality digital learning resources. The latest research by Sudimantara (2021) suggested that developing learning resources is a complex process. This is due to the fact that we need to embrace a new learning pedagogy first before tackling technological matters. In other words, the adoption of an innovative pedagogy is the benchmark of world class higher education services (Sudimantara, 2021). This research provides an innovative prototype of story-based speaking fluency approach to help students learn better. The R&D design was carried out in qualitative fashion, where all steps (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) were completed. The results of the study show that this new prototype is applicable in the current curriculum context with some future improvement. This study is expected to generate more research on the development of innovative learning resources.
