Abstract

Lesson plan contributes to the improvement of learning, especially in learning English. This study focused on discussing what learners need in increasing their learning in English to be successful students in interactive learning. In this case, the students become the subjects of learning by participating in developing themes and materials in the learning process. By focusing the learning activities on the students‘ participation, the content standards, process standards and graduate competency standards, and even assessment standards have been changed. Using qualitative methods and critical literature review, the study relied on diverse article resources as data sources and involved several steps of study about the needs of interactive learning in English lesson. The main problem found in the classroom was teacher‘s difficulty to design lesson plans which can promote interactive learning. The teacher had not been able to apply the appropriate lesson plans in class. This research aimed to design lesson plans to promote interactive learning on writing Greeting and Invitation Cards.
