Abstract
This research was aimed to develop English-speaking material asking and giving information for eighth-grade students of junior high school in 21st-century learning. It found that English speaking in the student textbook was insufficient for classroom use. This research was conducted based on educational Research & Development (R&D). The model used for designing the materials was the ADDIE model by Branch. It covers five-stage they are Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. But the steps will be adapted more short and simple becomes three steps as a consideration of time and situation in this research. The step is analysis the student's needs consisting of target needs and learning needs, design speaking material based on the student's needs, and develop the speaking material that has been designed. The subject in this research is eight grade student and the English teacher of SMP Negri 1 Cibingbin. The data was taken from interviewing English teachers and distributing questionnaires to 34 students. Based on the need analysis, the student needs speaking material related to their daily life and could support their learning activity to practice English. The learning material was focused only on one unit consisting of three subtopics of speaking material. The final product is printed material combined with video learning.
