Abstract

This study aimed to determine the readiness of teachers in using technology to teach English in Cirebon. The method used in this research was the descriptive qualitative method. This study explores the readiness of educators at SMP 14 Cirebon in utilizing technology for teaching English, amidst challenges such as infrastructure limitations, inadequate teacher training, and resource constraints. Drawing on government initiatives and educational reforms promoting technology integration, the study highlights the critical role of technology in enhancing the quality and relevance of education in Cirebon. However, significant barriers remain, including teachers' varying levels of readiness and resistance to change from traditional methods. Research findings underscore the need for tailored professional development programs and improved access to technological resources to support educators in effectively integrating technology into English language instruction. Strategies to address these challenges include enhancing teacher training, fostering a culture of innovation, and promoting student engagement through modern pedagogical approaches. Based on research findings, it can be seen that the obstacles that occur are (1) infrastructure limitations, (2) lack of teacher training and (3) resource constraints. By addressing these factors, educational institutions in Cirebon can create more inclusive and dynamic learning environments that prepare students for global communication and success in the 21st century.
