Abstract

English proficiency in Indonesia is still relatively low. This is because the learning process is less effective in Indonesia. In Indonesia, learning English still uses traditional pedagogy, which emphasizes students learn vocabulary and grammar. As competent teachers, they must be able to develop teaching materials, this has to be a change in the way teachers teach to increase the CEFR level of students. The better the qualifications of the new teachers, the more adequately the professional teacher standards are expected to be applied in schools (Sudimantara, 2021). It is through appropriate learning media outside the main source of teaching materials such as utilizing technology in the form of comics. The study is carried out in qualitative research and development framework. The researcher makes a product using the adaptation of ADDIE. First, the researcher conducts an interview for the analysis stage. After getting the characteristics from the researcher's interview, proceed to the second stage, which is designing the product. Then after designing the product the third stage is development stage. This research of this study show that this new digital short story resource is applicable in the current curriculum context with some future improvement. This study is expected to increase teacher awareness that it is important to build literacy learning for students with more effective methods.
