Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka curriculum often presents challenges for teachers in utilizing teaching modules in accordance with educational standards. The teaching module only functions as a decoration, because teachers are found to be more focused on creating the format of the teaching module rather than interpreting the function of the teaching module to assist them in practicing learning. Additionally, it was discovered that principals and teachers were concerned about whether their actions were proper or wrong, suggesting that accountability systems are frequently linked to the process of putting policies into action (Kemendikbudristek, 2024). This study aims to the suitability of the Teaching Module with the principles and objectives of the Merdeka curriculum. Then analyzing the suitability of the Teaching Module with teaching practices in Merdeka Curriculum. As well as identifying supporting and inhibiting factors in implementing of the English language teaching module in learning practices. This study uses qualitative research methods. Data analysis in this research is using a case study approach descriptive method. The results confirm that the English teaching module fulfills academic criteria, develops students' character based on Pancasila values, and is in line with the objectives and principles of the Merdeka Curriculum. Second, the module design aligns with classroom implementation, particularly differentiated learning. Third, there are inhibiting factors, such as a lack of teacher understanding, a high workload, and misconceptions about the curriculum, but there are also supporting factors, such as well-defined policies, qualified teachers, a robust learning community, and the application of merdeka mengajar platform.
