Abstract

This research was motivated by the existence of students majoring in PGMI IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon who were less interested in becoming teachers and there were also those who did not yet reflect a professional teaching attitude. This certainly made students less prepared to become professional teachers. This research aims to determine the relevance of teacher attitudes and interest in becoming a teacher on the readiness to become a professional classroom teacher among students majoring in Teacher Education at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon The type of research used in this research uses a quantitative approach with survey methods and uses a correlational design. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire. The population of this research was semesters 1-8, totaling 435 and the sample technique used was purposive sampling, totaling 100, namely semesters 2D, 4B, 6D and 8B. The processed data is obtained using normality tests, linearity tests, hypothesis tests. The results of this research can be concluded as follows: There is a positive student attitude (X1) based on the results of the questionnaire of 66,56 Based on these results, it means that students already have a professional teaching attitude. There is positive student interest (X2) based on the results of the questionnaire of 66,78 means that students already have an interest in becoming teachers. There is a positive and significant relationship between teacher attitudes (X1) and readiness to become professional classroom teachers (Y) based on the results t test of 6,195. Based on these results, it means that students who have good teacher attitudes and interest in becoming The higher the teacher level, the better the readiness to become a professional class teacher. There is a positive and significant relationship between interest in becoming a teacher (X2) and readiness to become a professional class teacher (Y) based on the results t test of 6,227.
