Abstract
The backgound of this paper is related between the teacher position in the teaching and lerning proccess and students as the subject in the teaching and learning process. Mostly, the teaching and learning process used teacher-centered. The teacher explained all the time, and the students had few chances to be active in the classroom. The impact are students felt shy to express their ideas. They preferred using Indonesian to English in expressing their thoughts. They also tended to make errors when speaking, such as mispronouncing words, producing ungrammatical sentences, and choosing inappropriate comments. This research has several aimed. The first is to reveal and describe types of teacher’s Feedback in students’ speaking activities. However, the second aim is to reveal and describe the purposes of giving such Feedback in students’ speaking. The method of this research is a descriptive qualitative method. The descriptive method is the method of research that should describe and explain the phenomena arisen. The instrument that used by the researches are interview and documentation. The interview is taken with the English teacher who involves directly in the learning process and also the students. However for the documentation, the researcher uses the English teacher lesson plan and a picture of a teacher in the classroom. The result of this research is not only to know about the types of teacher’s feedback in teaching Eglish language in the classroom. Then, the researcher also present the categories of aspet that give feedback by teachr and also the problem that face by the teacher to gice feedbck for students in the teaching and learning process. Moreover, the researcher also present the probem that face by student in the teching and learning process relating to the teacher feedback.
