Abstract

This study explores the implementation of a Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR)-based model for English learning at the middle school level, specifically using mythological narratives in Kuningan and employing the reading for emotion approach. The qualitative research methodology involved interviews with both English teachers and students to gather data. The findings revealed the effectiveness of digital learning resources in improving students' narrative skills, although challenges in implementation were noted due to limited resources. Despite this, there was a notable increase in students' enthusiasm for learning, particularly in aligning with CEFR criteria for different levels of narrative proficiency. The study suggests that while teachers express interest in utilizing digital learning platforms, current school tools may not adequately support this mode of learning. The use of digital resources in the classroom appeared to captivate students and cultivate a more positive attitude towards learning in a novel environment. This research emphasizes the potential of a CEFR-based mythology narrative learning platform in enhancing English proficiency. The researcher aims to contribute as a curriculum engineer, developing innovative learning solutions not yet integrated into educational systems. Additionally, the study underscores the importance of further investigating the potential of such platforms in diverse educational settings and for students with varying language abilities.
